Campfire Cooking ~ achieved with ease…with a gourmet touch presents outdoor cooking in a witty, fun style with recipes that reflect the author’s western heritage. Includes recipes such as Trapper Jim’s Goulash, Bandito Burritos and Mountain Fried Macaroni.

As an avid backpacker and fisherman, author Brad Probst has spent many nights under the stars and around the flickering glow of the campfire. If this book is evidence of his experience, most of those nights were also spent cooking classic campfire cuisine and telling jokes and stories to anyone within shouting distance.

Recipes, back country cooking techniques & poetry!

This is a well rounded back country cook book that covers all the bases on cooking techniques. The recipes are very detailed with lots of tips & tricks that you could only learn in the back country. If you are a novice or you are a well seasoned camp cook, you will find this book useful. Amongst the recipes are funny & existential poems! Four stars because some recipes repeat the same ingredients-nothing wrong with that-lots of potatoes, onions & peppers. A few recipes have ingredients listed in the body of the recipe that aren’t in the ingredients list making you say to yourself…where did that come from? Easy fix & doesn't take away from the valuable techniques & instruction.
