I've had the original pie irons for years. We used to make pies when I was camping as a kid. I wanted to introduce my 7 year old goddaughter to the joy of camping, so we did an overnight in my back yard. I had always wanted the waffle pie iron, but never bought it just for myself. Having her share a camping weekend with me was the perfect excuse to finally get one. I am SO glad I did! The morning after our tent sleepover, I mixed up a batch of waffle batter and set her up by the fire to make our first ever waffle over the fire. It came out beautifully. I would highly recommend getting one of these. The waffles cook quickly, and come out with that delicious brown outside, and fluffy inside.
I realize this is a casting but I expected better quality control from Rome. I reached out on 10/14/24 to [****] on these issues with no response so I am leaving this review. Rome reached out to me and are sending me a new replacement. Very happy with customer services
Love cooking on an open fire while camping. Looking forward to using them this camping season !
